ACEs Statewide Action Plan Released to Reduce Trauma and Increase Resilience in New Jersey

On Thursday, February 4, the Office of the Governor held a press conference with the New Jersey Department of Children and Families (NJDCF) announcing the release of the ACEs Action Plan issued by the new Office of Resilience. The Action Plan is a blueprint of initiatives and actions proposed or underway to identify, coordinate and advance programs and services across state government to reduce and eradicate adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).

Since 2018, the New Jersey ACEs Collaborative — the Turrell Fund, the Burke Foundation, and The Nicholson Foundation, and NJDCF — developed a New Jersey ACEs report, convened cross-sectoral focus groups, and held a Town Hall with Dave Ellis, Executive Director of the Office of Resilience, in anticipation of this Action Plan. This release marks the next phase of statewide work and collaboration to prevent, protect against, and heal from the effects of ACEs with you, our clients and partners, in support of New Jersey residents.

To get involved, please visit and sign up for your areas of interest on the NJ Resiliency Coalition website where the Action Plan is hosted.

In addition, the Turrell Fund requests your direct feedback on the Action Plan through our survey, to share your initial thoughts and identify further opportunities for partnership, collaboration, and success in preventing trauma and increasing resilience in children and families.
