NJAAP Announces RFA for Practices to Join NJ SEEDlings

The New Jersey Chapter American Academy of Pediatrics (NJAAP) announced a Request for Applications to join the HRSA-funded NJ SEEDlings: Supporting Equity in Early Development Program.

The goal of NJSEEDlings is to transform pediatric primary care for children ages 0-5 eligible for NJ FamilyCare or who are uninsured. This program aims to enhance the capacity of NJ’s early childhood workforce to deliver equitable, high quality early childhood development services that meet the needs of young children and their families.

Selected practices will receive substantial financial support to participate in a two-year partnership with NJAAP and partners to:

  • Launch HealthySteps, an evidence-based, interdisciplinary pediatric primary care program that promotes the health, well-being and school readiness of babies and toddlers, with an emphasis on families living in low-income communities. Participants receive financial support for onboarding and salary for a HealthySteps Specialist for two years (valued at $200,000+).

  • Integrate a Family Resource Specialist peer-support for families in the practice setting

  • Engage in a six-month QI virtual learning collaborative.

  • Receive tailored clinical QI coaching to facilitate the adoption of a comprehensive early childhood screening protocol for patients up to 5 years old.
