On May 13, Turrell Senior Director of Operations & Programs Madison McHugh-Thieke attended the @lctheater Celebration of Student Songs concert!

11 Lincoln Center Theater teaching artists worked with students from 5 NYC public middle and high schools to write character-based songs. Students were able to introduce their works, which were then performed by Broadway professionals.

On June 2, Turrell Staffer Stan Carroll attended @smapa_dance annual “Celebrate Dance” Concert which featured the talented SMAPA Performance Workshop Ensemble!

Sharron Miller’s Academy for the Performing Arts (SMAPA) offers accessible, comprehensive training in dance and theater arts to students of all ages. The Performance Workshop Ensemble was made up of scholarship students who were able to showcase new routines, old favorites and more!

The Greater Newark Conservancy’s event highlighted the importance of environmental, food and racial justice for the Newark community. Author Natalie Baszile spoke about her book “We Are Each Other’s Harvest,” and there was a poetry performance by Kween Moore and Jamale Davis.

On April 18, Turrell staffers and clients enjoyed an enchanting evening at the @njsymphony Spring Into Music Gala & Auction, with live music from the Curtland E. Fields Ensemble of the Youth Orchestra! It was truly an unforgettable night!

The New Jersey Symphony (NJS) connects diverse communities through live music and celebrating creativity among audiences of all ages. NJS also prioritizes music education for all ages, especially the youth.

The Fields Ensemble, created in 2019 in honor of Curt and the Turrell Fund’s support, allows NJ youth to learn the art of orchestral music.

The Fund thanks NJS for hosting a wonderful night, as well as for its work in empowering the Newark community with live symphonic music and learning opportunities for the youth.

Even in the rain, @northbranchcenter students love to explore the outdoors during Forest Preschool!

North Branch Nature Center serves VT family and children through outdoor recreation and educational programs. The Forest Preschool program is the first licensed preschool embedded in a nature center.
