The Turrell Fund is proud to highlight one of the 2025 Landon Award winners: Early Childhood Professional Network!
What is the Early Childhood Professional Network?
The Early Childhood Professional Network (ECPN) is a combination of family home and center-based Early Childhood Education programs in Vermont.

ECPN is also involved with other organizations, such as the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VTAYEC), and the Early Care and Education Association (ECEA).
Its work is to provide its members with resources to engage children and families, while also strengthening community connections.
Early Childhood Professional Network’s Work
ECPN’s current project is to provide participating members with tabletop hydroponic growing systems, with resources for parents and children.

Hydroponics is the practice of growing plants by supplying necessary nutrients through water instead of soil, extending the growing season.
Hydroponic gardening provides children to experience food growth firsthand in a controlled, indoor setting.
This will encourage hands-on learning, as children learn about locally grown foods and the importance of healthy eating.
How the Early Childhood Professional Network Supports Educators
ECPN’s model provides early childhood educators with opportunities to connect and collaborate, furthering strengthening their work to support children and families.

The Turrell Fund congratulates Early Childhood Professional Network and supports its mission of connecting early childhood programs in Vermont. Thank you for all that you do!
